This is my favorite train that my son has Lexi is awesome she is sturdy and well made and worth every Penney my son is pretty rough on his toys and the Thomas the train brand always holds up great this is a trackmAster train so it requires 2 aaa battery’s to work the review asks about the remote control up above but this does not require nor come with a remote control she works on all stand Thomas the train tracks I’m sure your kids will enjoy her as much as mine has she’s such a beautiful train that rustic look to me is gorgeous and I’m glad they made one that’s not quite perfectPerfect gift for my grandson's Thomas train layoutMy local stores don't carry a decent selection of Thomas & Friends trains so I've ordered all my trains & tracks off Amazon. My 4yr old loves Spencer! I read the reviews & made sure he was the newer model. Shipping was fast & in excellent condition! Spencer did come boxed in a Diesel 10's box (same as another buyer posted hers also being in a deisel 10 box) but that didn't matter to us since we bought the train to unbox & play with. My son is happy & always has plays with Spencer, & has held up great so far to being dropped & rammed into the other trains & toys. The newer trains do derail often on all trackmaster tracks & go through higher quality batteries quicker then expected so I'm investing in rechargeable AAA's. Otherwise, as long as my boys are happy with them, I will buy more trains but the makers definitely need to make improvements with the trackmaster tracks!Came in as expected, son loves it and has no complaints.Train is exactly as pictured. My nephew loves it! I thought it’d be a nice addition to his collection since it seemed unique. Arrived just in time for his birthday too.I like these little trains. They do their job. And when the engine wears out my son likes to take them apart and work on them. And I am fine with that because of the price.We haven't opent it yet it's for Christmas. So I DNT know if it works yet but Spencer was on his list. Every time I find a new t ain I write their name eo n he loves teackmasters. He makes all kinds of crazy tracks does test runs.My son loved his Spencer. Train runs really fast. Glad I bought it. Would recommendI understand these are reconditioned, so didn't expect brand new quality, but this had numerous chips on the face and around the wheels. Obviously my 3 year old not really too fussed about that.Pretty fast compared to the shop bought trackmaster engines, but this does mean the batteries run out pretty quickly - make sure you have a good supply!Expensive for the size, but realistic & sturdy.Bought this for my Grandson, who has the same name. It looks sturdy nice qualityAs pointed out by another reviewer, despite the fact this generation of Trackmaster train is promoted as being faster etc., they in fact perform poorly on any previous generation track you might already own, with slipping on low inclines and at junctions occurring frequently. Given Fisher-Price mention in the description that it is compatible with most Trackmaster sets I feel this justifies me in saying this is a flaw in the product design. I have not as yet tested it on any current generation track packs so I cannot comment on performance in respect to that, but I would hope it is significantly better. So far the only positive that I have been able to identify is that they are much quieter than the previous generation.My gorgeous Grandson, who is crazy about Thomas and Friends, just loved it!
