I read Journey to the Manger With St. Patrick & Friends very quickly the first time. It was incredibly captivating, and I was literally on the verge of tears many times. God truly speaks through this devotional. The stories that the author included were extremely poignant and pierced me right to the heart. There is one story about her as a 4 year old wanting a bride doll for Christmas. She asked her mother for one, but her mother could not afford such an extravagant present for her daughter. Just wait until you read what happens on Christmas morning. Now, I am reading this devotional daily with my family. At the end of each devotional there is a Ponder, Dwell, and Action section. My kids love doing this part. The author guides you through a brief period of introspection, which is powerful, including prayer, visualization and meditation. You wouldn't think that a 6, 9 and 10 year old would be into this, but they love it. I always ask them if anyone wants to share something after these times of introspection, and you would be surprised what come out of their mouths via their hearts. So, you can use this devotional by yourself, with your friend or spouse, or with your whole family. You will be blessed by it I promise.
